New article in AJC looks at the impact of worsening heart failure on long-term prognosis in patients with heart failure. The study carried out in Netherlands looking at patients over 18 years of age first presenting in a 27 year study period (1993 to 2020), the study endpoint being all-cause mortality. Total of 1801 patients were included in the study, the data used in the study were collected for routine clinical purposes and handled anonymously. They concluded that worsening Heart Failure as defined by Heart Failure hospitalization or the urgent need for intravenous diuretics, is
